The lie of Israel ethnic cleansing- debunked

Ethnic cleansing , according to Wiki is  defined  as thus :

"Ethnic cleansing is the systematic forced removal of ethnic or religious groups from a given territory with the intent of creating a territory inhabited by people of a homogeneous or pure ethnicity, religion, culture, and history. The forces applied may be various forms of forced migration (deportation, population transfer), as well as mass murder, and intimidation"

One of the most vile accusations regarding the state of Israel is that she is somehow such an 'ethnic cleanser'- see here, here, and here  for just 3 examples a  1 second google search can come up with.Sadly there was 3,068,000 articles according to google search on Israel and ethnic cleansing, found in 0.38 seconds .

The propaganda does not, however, stand up to the facts. Firstly in Israel pre 1967  boundaries, the facts are as follows( source )  :
Arab jewish population in Israel Palestine 1949 to 2006

I draw to the reader's attention the FACT that in 1949, after the apparent 'ethnic cleansing' of Palestine, Jews made up 86.4% of Israel's population & you will also note that the Jewish percentage has been gradually declining, so by 2006 that proportion was down to 79.2%.

Hardly evidence of 'ethnic cleansing' & let us not forget that Israel's non Jewish citizens have  :

* An ability to vote in general elections & to be represented in the democratically elective body, called the Knesset

* Freedom of Speech

* Equality before the law

* The same privileges, benefits and rights as any other citizen

* Freedom of religion

Where else is this allowed in the middle east??

Turning now to the 'occupied territories' of the West Bank and Gaza and the Arab popualation we see that the population has steadily increased since Israel 'conquered' the land in 1967  :

Where is this alleged 'ethnic cleansing'?
West bank and gaza strip arab population 1948 to 2005

Another point of contention is the ridiculous demands that Israel give its capital , Jerusalem, to the Palestinians. But what's this? A majority of Jerusalem is in fact JEWISH :

Jerusalem jewish muslim christian population 1910 to 2005
What happened to the right of self determination of  people, does this not apply to Jewish Israelis ?

We can see from the statistical  facts that there is NO ethnic cleansing going on in Israel or by Israel.... But as my sister has  noted , Arab & Muslim regimes have a track record which they won't admit to; for it is  they are the real ethnic cleansers of the middle east and did so less than 3 years after the murderous Fascist swines of Nazi Germany, who began with ethnic cleansing of Jews &  tried to exterminate every last and every single Jew on the earth [Source &  here ] :

graphic-refugees

In summary the population of non-Jewish Palestine has experienced a growth rate of 700%;  Sephardi Jews of the Middle East, outside of Israel a decrease of 99.9%.

Who is the real ethnic cleanser ?

Over the past 30 years the US has provided more than US$90 billion to Israel. The only solution is for the US to butt out and stop providing money, aid and arms to this made-up country. Israel will be forced to compromise.

Maybe Netanyahu and his cronies can seek asylum in the US....if the US will take them.

Israel was born out of terrorism, war crimes, genocide, land and property theft, and ethnic cleansing. Every day of its existence it violates the human rights of 7 million Palestinians. It stands in violation of 26 laws in the 4th Geneva convention, to which it is a signatory. The fourth Geneva Convention was authored after WW2 to specifically prevent rouge states from behaving in the same way as Germany did toward the Jews.

NB- How much "aid" has Israel required from the US, in order to achieve this principled stand? Do you foresee any administration turning off the tap? At some point the Zionist military juggernaut ought to be able to stand on its own, but that day never seems to come. And it's always somebody else's fault.

  3. Hi David,

Thanks for this post. I see the anti-zionists have already been here...

  4. London's Willy/Atheist,

You forgot to mention the vast flows of money from the US and Europe in the rest of the middle east, which far outweigh that given to Israel. I think that US support is significant, but slightly a myth to suggest that Israel would be unable to hold her own without US military aid. I read an intriguing article about this recently and if I can find it, I will post it up.

"Israel was born out of terrorism, war crimes, genocide, land and property theft, and ethnic cleansing. "

Yes. Or the Second World War and the Holocaust as it is generally known. The rest of the observations there are your predictable rubbish. As for the man made state, the whole mandate of Palestine was carved out of the Ottoman Empire and before 1967 Jordan and Egypt ran Palestine. During 1948 to 1967, there was no -one calling for a Palestinian state or an end to Egyptian and Jordanian "occupation", only when Israel took control did this happen.

    I wonder why?

Oh and if you want to think of another example of ethnic cleansing google what Kuwait did to 400,000 Palestinians in the 1990s after the Gulf war. That's right they EXPELLED every single Palestinian. So much for brotherly Arab support. And so much for Israel doing the ethic cleansing. I think you need to look to other middle eastern governments for that, as said in my article.

    Hannah,

    Yep. Bless 'em.

  6. Good article, that does debunk a lot of the mythology and propaganda one gets from the mainstream view and Palestinian narrative.

  7. Esther/Ziva,

Thanks. I do try and put effort into these posts. I'm tempted to put a link from a debate Orthodox Judaism verses Calvinism which I found on the internet the other day. It is an hour long, so might be a bit too much for people to concentrate on.

  8. Interesting, is it not, that the 'hostiles' didn't actually address the subject of the post. Just the historically illiterate assertion that Israel was born in terror and ethnic cleansing and [insert some other tired nonsense here.] Plus some unsubstantiated claims about the Geneva Convention.

But as to responding to the post?

Nothing. Nichts. Nada. Shocked. Shocked I am and surprised.

  10. America is the only real power that support Israel, and yes they pull the strings of congress and the president, that is the only reason they get the support but that relationship cannot go on forever. Britain gives nominal support but do you really think without america they would be worth anything, they would run a mile.

  11. Did anyone notice that the war over Crimea is at the heart of the so-called former Khazarian Empire, where Jews actually come from ?

Only some 30,000 Palestinians remain of those who fled their homes in 1948 & thus could genuinely be counted as refugees.
Uniquely only the descendants of Palestinians are classed as refugees, thereby ensuring that their numbers keep rising. In contrast to refugees elsewhere where successive generations are absorbed into their host societies.

The descendants of Palestinian refugees are being cynically exploited in the war to delegitimise Israel. They are denied citizenship & basic rights in other Arab states and subjected to a form of apartheid in which for example, they are barred from working in certain professions and denied services other citizens can access.

By the same yardstick Israel also has millions of ‘refugees’ - those descended from the 850,000 Jewish refugees who were forced to flee their homes in Arab lands after the State of Israel was established. Yet these people were simply absorbed into Israeli society.
And would the so-called ‘siege of Gaza’ have anything to do with the fact that since the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 some 14,000 rockets have been fired into Israeli communities by Gazan terrorist groups with the sole purpose of maiming and killing innocent civilians? Surely not!
And to those who support a right of return for millions of ‘Palestinian refugees’. This is no more realistic than for the descendants of Greek refugees to return to their ancestral homes in Turkey from which their families were forced to leave in the early part of the 20th century.
The real cause of this conflict has nothing to do with refugees but with hatred for an infidel state established on land deemed to be Muslim Land.

Hence the rejection by the Arab leadership of the UN Partition Plan in 1947 and the refusal up to the present day by Fatah to recognise Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people.

And all this while demanding a Palestinian homeland in which not a single Jew will be allowed to live – while all Israel’s Arab citizens enjoy equality under the law!

It’s time for the delusional, hypocritical Left endlessly peddling the same historical distortions about this conflict to see their role for what it really is - not for what they believe it to be.

I have seen bullets stopped in Jesus name. I have see demons cast out in Jesus name. I have see people on their death bed in the hospital and were spared in Jesus name. The name of Jesus... There IS something about that names.

The International Community is agreed that Russia's annexation of Crimea is illegal.
The international Community is agreed that Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights is illegal.
But a noticeably different response from the Leader of the Labour Party.
Urging Mr Cameron to go further than he has to date, Mr Miliband said London should “consider asset freezes and travel restrictions on designated individuals, so that Russia is clear about the consequences of its actions”. (Irish Times)
“I think the boycotts of Israel are totally wrong. We should have no tolerance for boycotts. I would say that to any trade union leaders,” (Ed Milliband quoted in Daily Telegraph)
Half a million illegal Jewish settlers in land that doesn't belong to Israel proves that going soft on the Jewish State doesn't work. If sanctions are appropriate for Russia, they are even more justified for Israel.

  15. Any agreement that relies on the release of murderous terrorists is no basis for a proper agreement. As usual this article pins the blame on Israel and very little on Abbas, dictator for life starting the 10th year of a 4 year term in control of a terrorist state.

Negotiating with terrorists like Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad and the PLA, PLO is usually the height of stupidity if they are not willing to stop their terrorist activities and recognise the legitimate existence of Israel.

The palestinian territories would on all ratings of human endeavor and rights is failing on all leveIs and is basically a failed state that is getting worse. How can Israel negotiate when there are at least 2 factions to negotiate with that dislike each other and the failed example of Gaza? I do not think the shipment of weapons by Iran apparently to Hamas helped either, not to mention continuing rocket fire and small scale terrorist attacks against Israel facilitates peace.

The settlement issue is used as an excuse for the utter refusal of Abbas to negotiate when a ten-month freeze in 2010 on such activity imposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not induce Abbas to start negotiations. He has no intention as him, his family and supporters profit immensely in maintaining the status quo, its more like some mafia enterprise and terrorism mixed together to run a state.

All the money sent to the PLA has been wasted on paying terrorists and bureaucratic supporters of Abbas as the welfare state falls to pieces. Then Israel is blamed for this!

Palestine a country that never existed is really just a part of greater Syria which is not looking to good at the moment, but they definitely have commonalities like terrorism, dictatorship and a failed state. After all Syria illegally seized it and then lost it to Israel.

The Palestinian leadership clearly have no desire for a settlement which enshrines the status of Israel as a homeland for the Jewish people. That is behind their insistence on the 'right of return' and their refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

The Palestinians want it all, and they've ended up with nothing. It is a fitting reward for intransigence and greed. Their celebration of freed terrorist killers was not very endearing either.
