Am Yisrael Chai!

Am Yisrael Chai- The children of Israel still liveth- was one of the exclamations made by Rabbi Leslie Hardman, the British[Orthodox, Welsh-Jewish] Army Chaplain who was part of the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen death camp, after the first Shabbat of the liberation of the camp, in 1945, after the singing of Hatikvah. Perhaps it is difficult for others to understand the determination of Jews, to never, ever suffer such a fate again & that we have Hatikvah- The Hope.

Of which,  the Jewish anthem [ upon which the national anthem of Israel & tune is taken from]:

"As long as in the heart, within,
A Jewish soul still yearns,
And onward, towards the ends of the east,
An eye still gazes toward Zion;

[Refrain]:

Our hope is not yet lost,
The hope of two thousand years,
To be a free people in our land,
The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

Our hope is not yet lost,
The ancient hope,
To return to the land of our fathers,
The city where David encamped.

As long as tears from our eyes
Flow like benevolent rain,
And throngs of our countrymen
Still pay homage at the graves of (our) fathers;

As long as our precious Wall
Appears before our eyes,
And over the destruction of our [G-d's] Temple
An eye still wells up with tears;

As long as the waters of the Jordan
In fullness swell its banks,
And (down) to the Sea of Galilee
With tumultuous noise fall;

As long as on the barren highways
The humbled city gates mark,
And among the ruins of Jerusalem
A daughter of Zion still cries;

As long as pure tears
Flow from the eye of a daughter of my nation,
And to mourn for Zion at the watch of night
She still rises in the middle of the nights;

As long as drops of blood in our veins
Flow back and forth,
And upon the graves of our fathers
Dewdrops still fall;

Hear, O my brothers in the lands of exile,
The voice of our Prophets,
(Who declare) That only with the very last Jew —
Only there is the end of our hope!

Go, my people, return in peace to your land
The balm in Gilead, your healer in Jerusalem,
Your healer is G-d, the wisdom of His heart,
Go my people in peace, healing is imminent... "

    The Hebrews have done more to civilize men than any other nation. If I were an atheist, and believed blind eternal fate, I should still believe that fate had ordained the Jews to be the most essential instrument for civilizing the nations.

    Christianity acknowledges the God of the Jews, not as God but as “the Father of Jesus Christ.” Christianity itself cleaves to the “Lord” because it knows that the Father can be reached only through him....We are all wholly agreed as to what Christ and his church mean to the world: no one can reach the Father save through him. No one can reach the Father! But the situation is quite different for one who does not have to reach the Father because he is already with him. And this is true of the people of Israel.

    Amen and amen!

    Jesus lives and God forgives

    May the blessing of God Almighty, The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost,
    Be with the Children of Israel, the Jews, now and forevermore!

    1. Now Billy, that is not a part of any Christian theology other than 'duel covenant' theory and is without a biblical basis. If you're a Christian, read Hebrews and Romans.

    2. So what is this 'dual covenant' theory....?

    3. Basically it runs along these lines - the Torah still holds for the Jews whilst the 'New Covenant is for gentiles. At some point,the Jewish Messiah will come (as the Son of God and not to establish an earthly kingdom) and it will be His Second Coming for Christians.

  8. Hi David,

    I see why you've posted this- it is holocaust memorial day on Monday.

    As a Roman Catholic, I say, may we never forget and always keep our Jewish older brothers firmly and safely in our hearts, as they defend their God given homeland.

    A prayer -

    "Saint Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle.
    Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
    and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
    by the Divine Power of God,
    cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
    who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls

    Amen"

  10. A forceful pro zionist occupational bully nation which has left no stone untruned to degrade humanity to its lowest and in massacring people, is talking about ”threat” from a well cultured, well mannered, well organized, genuine nation which has neither occupied nor massacred nor threatened any population ever. Clearly Satan is ruling the roost.
